Upon graduation, Hector earned Envision Academy’s 2013 Jackie Robinson Scholarship, an award given to a student who demonstrates college readiness through his or her excellent portfolio defense and who exemplifies the spirit of Jackie Robinson through an active commitment to community service.  Hector earned this award because of his academic work, his leadership of the senior class, and his work with a recycling program empowering the homeless population in Oakland.   He is a model for other students of what it means to be resilient and reflective.  This Fall, Hector is attending Cal State, East Bay.
